Saturday June 9
Birding

6:00 to 8:00 am Birds and Breakfast with Early Morning Birding at Pigot’s Trail (meet at Eco-Centre Parking Lot to car pool to site)

10 am to 3 pm Eagle Viewing & Birding at Pigot’s Trail Allisary Creek Impoundment, marsh birds + Acadian/Scottish dykes

10 am to noon and 1:00 to 3:00 Viewing Bobolinks in fields near Allisary Creek

Tours

9:15 to 11:15 am Interpretive Tour of Aeneas MacIntyre’s Ancient Red Pine Trees & Viewing of an Eagle’s Nest (Scotchfort)., Eagle Banding (off site meet at Eco-Centre)

9:45-11:15 and 3:00-4:30 Lady Slipper & Wildflower Walk with visit to Dromore “Spirit Springs” (off site meet at Eco-Centre)

10:00-3:30 Great Northern Adventures -Horse and Wagon Rides- shuttle from Hillsborough River Eco-Centre to eagle viewing area and back

Children’s Activities

10 am-Noon and 1:00-3:00 Children’s Program at Eco-Centre: Acadian Songs and Games, Acadian Period Costumes, Face Painting, an Interactive Eagle & Robin Story and Puppetry, the Mi’kmaq waltes game “go in a good way”, and more

1:00 to 3:00 pm Family Fun Mi’kmaq stories and games, Methilda Knockwood-Snache

Talks and Entertainment

11:00 to 11:30 pm. “Hellfire Jack” the history of John Stewart in Mt. Stewart (Travis James)

11:30 – 1:00 pm Grand opening

1:15 to 3:30 pm Local/Traditional Music by Margie Ccarmichael and friends

1:30-2:30 pm Marian Bruce – author of Remembering Old Dan: Farm Horses and People of Prince Edward Island.(at the United Church Hall)

2:45 to 3:45 pm “Eagles of Prince Edward Island” presentation by Jackie Waddell

Hillsborough River Eco-Centre Watershed and Historical Displays (Eco-Centre main floor)

Mi’kmaq Culture Display in Hillsborough River Eco-Centre Lookout

1:00 to 2:30 pm Wildlife Carvings Demonstration by Mt. Stewart Lady Slipper Carvers (in the Eco-Centre lookout)

Local Food

Kristie’s restaurant will be open at 8:00am Saturday and 9:00am Sunday
There will be a BBQ on site with hotdogs 11:30 – 1:30
