PEI 2021-22 Christmas Bird Counts

April 29th -May 2nd , 2022,  City Nature Challenge in Summerside- Kensington-Miscouche and Charlottetown-Cornwall-Stratford. Enter records on iNaturalist. Watch for updates.  

Please bring a friend, items for the raffle table, and toonies to buy raffle tickets. It will be possible to renew Nature PEI memberships at the meeting.

Note – As per provincial requirements for public events, participants will be asked to show their PEIVaxPass in either printed or electronic format, and face masks are mandatory.

PEI 2021-22 Christmas Bird Counts – Please keep these dates in mind and contact these coordinators if you would like to participate,

Dec. 14th to Jan. 5th – The Audubon Christmas Bird Counts. These are held annually across Canada, United States,Latin America and the Caribbean.Nature PEI hosts four of these 24 km diameter count circles:

Dec. 18th (Saturday) – The East Point Christmas Bird Count. Please contact Dwaine Oakley at 393-6223or dwaine.oakley@gmail.com for details and to register. The date may change in the advent of severeweather so please contact your coordinator.

Dec. 19th (Sunday) – The Prince Edward Island National Park Christmas Bird Count – Please contactDan McAskill at 902-393-4385 or E-mail at jdmcaskill@pei.sympatico.ca for information or toregister. The date may change in the advent of severe weather so please contact your coordinator.

Dec. 27th (Monday) – The Hillsborough Christmas Bird Count. Please contact Dan McAskill at 902-393-4385 or E-mail at jdmcaskill@pei.sympatico.ca for information or to register. The date may changein the advent of severe weather so please contact your coordinator.

Jan 2 (Sunday)- The Montague Christmas Bird Count. Please contact Scott Sinclair via E-mail at scsinclair@pei.sympatico.ca for information or to register. The date may change in the advent of severe weather so please contact your coordinator.
