Join Nature PEI for their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 5th, 7:30 pm in Charlottetown. Guest speaker, Tara Callaghan, will share a presentation titled ‘Moving Forward to Nature in the Rise of Artificial Intelligence’.
Tara has worked as a landscape architect for 15 years and currently operates her own practice in PEI, Haute Nature, with a primary focus on encouraging connections to nature. She also enjoys gardening and creative writing and has recently launched a blog called Renatured on Substack, dedicated to finding sanity through nature in a seemingly insane world.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines artificial intelligence (AI) as “the capability of computer systems or algorithms to imitate intelligent human behavior”. Some say we’ve entered the fourth industrial revolution known as the Intelligence Revolution. With much attention being given to the exponential rise in AI, such as recent advancements in the brain-computer interface, Neuralink. Tara believes a healthy counterbalance to the AI hype lies in deepening our awareness of Natural Intelligence.
Tara’s talk will take a brief look at previous technological advancements and their relationship (or lack thereof) to nature, and how a revolution in our abilities to connect to nature is more needed than ever before.
Nature PEI’s meeting starts at 7:30pm at Beaconsfield Carriage House, corner of West and Kent St., in Charlottetown. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend
