Pleasant View Cedars Nature Walk, 10AM-12noon, near St. Louis (Palmer Road/Miminegash area) (near #12358 Rte 14)
Pleasant View Cedars Natural Area exploration takes place on Monday, August 25th at 10am -12 noon, sponsored by Nature PEI, with the helpful direction of Mark Arsenault of the PEI Government Forests, Fish and Wildlife Division.
The Eastern White Cedar is also known as “arbour vitae”, or “the tree of life,” and is one of the dominant conifer species in Prince County. Pleasant View Cedars Natural Area’s particular woodland has some of the older cedar trees known in the Province.
Directions: Meet near civic address 12358, Rte 14 in Pleasant View, park on the road shoulder, and look for Mark in his government vehicle. Then proceed to the old Cedar woodland as directed by the trip leaders, Mark Arsenault and Rosemary Curley.
