Nature PEI Outdoor Program – Nature Time for Kids and Parents
Parents and kids of all ages are welcome to attend Saturday morning outdoor nature time programming in Summerside. These free one hour events are hosted by Nature PEI and are open to parents and children of all ages.
There are three remaining in the series.

On Saturday, February 28th, at the West End boardwalk in Summerside off MacKenzie Drive, there will be a bird identification event for parents and children of all ages.
On Saturday March 7th, the program returns to Rotary Friendship Park for animal track identification and games. The last in this series will be on Saturday, March 14th, at 11:00 a.m., with the program especially for mothers and babies in strollers, slings or backpacks, and will feature a short guided nature walk at the accessible West End boardwalk. All activities are in Summerside, all free, and parents must accompany children.
Nature PEI, the Natural History Society of Prince Edward island, is a non-profit nature education and conservation organization which hosts nature programming for people of all ages, to share a love of the natural world. Nature PEI hosts monthly meetings and presentations in the Charlottetown area, which are open to everyone.
This series of nature events will be facilitated by outdoor educator Irene MacAulay, who has worked with Canadian Wildlife Federation’s WILD Outside program. The sessions will also feature activities including scavenger hunts and nature games. Both children and parents will find that no prior nature knowledge is necessary, and the sessions will be adapted to the interests of the parents and kids. Parents will be responsible for their children at all times.
