April 1st Nature PEI Meeting with Morgan McNeil and “Secrets of the Soil”

Nature PEI Monthly Meeting, Tuesday, April 1st on “Secrets of the Soil”

April 1st is the date of the Natural History Society of PEI’s monthly meeting. After sharing sightings and a raffle break, the meeting’s presentation will be by agronomist and former Nature PEI newsletter editor Morgan McNeil on “Secrets of the Soil” . She’ll share the underground world of fascinating soil microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, nematodes, protozoa, soil spiders), and touch on earthworms, compost and soil health principles. She’ll also make forest ecology comparisons to agriculture soil. “I hope the audience will have an appreciation for the diversity and complexity of soil microbial life and interactions in the soil,” says Morgan. “It is not visible by the naked eye!”

The meeting starts at 7:30PM and the presentation at 8PM, at Beaconsfield Carriage House, corner of West and Kent Streets in Charlottetown. The talk will be livestreamed on the Nature PEI Facebook page. Meetings are free and all ages are welcome to attend.
